NFLPA Survey Reveals Status of Steelers, Dolphins, and More
The NFLPA survey just came out, and it paints a picture of what each NFL team looks like from the perspective of players. Are they nice to the players' families? Do they have good facilities, good coaches? What about the owner? It reveals all.
This is the last year this survey will be conducted and made public, though. The NFL won a legal battle to prevent this from being revealed to fans. With that said, here are some of the best and some of the worst organizations in the NFL.
The best teams in the NFLPA survey
The best team, according to the NFLPA survey, to play for is the Miami Dolphins. They earned the top spot thanks to some impressive grades:
- Treatment of Families: B+
- Home Game Field: A-
- Food/Dining Area: A
- Nutritionist/Dietician: A-
- Locker Room: A-
- Training Room: A
- Training Staff: A
- Weight Room: A+
- Strength Coaches: A+
- Position Coaches: A-
- Offensive Coordinator: A-
- Defensive Coordinator: A
- Special Teams Coordinator: B
- Team Travel: A
- Head Coach: B
- General Manager: A-
- Team Ownership: A
The Minnesota Vikings were second. They had an A or B grade across the board, earning A's in Treatment of Families, Locker Room, Training Room, Training Staff, Weight Room, Strength Coaches, Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Head Coach, General Manager, and Team Ownership.
Rounding out the top three is the Washington Commanders. This would've been unheard of in the Dan Snyder era. Here are their marks:
- Treatment of Families: B+
- Home Game Field: B+
- Food/Dining Area: A-
- Nutritionist/Dietician: A-
- Locker Room: B
- Training Room: A-
- Training Staff: A
- Weight Room: A
- Strength Coaches: A+
- Position Coaches: B+
- Offensive Coordinator: B+
- Defensive Coordinator: B-
- Special Teams Coordinator: A-
- Team Travel: B-
- Head Coach: A+
- General Manager: A
- Team Ownership: A+
The Seattle Seahawks just won the Super Bowl and ranked fourth. They were only dragged down by an F in Home Game Field. Only two other categories even had less than an A- grade. They were otherwise a pretty flawless organization.
The worst teams in the NFLPA survey
The Pittsburgh Steelers ranked dead last. This is a surprise, since they are historically a well-run organization. They got a D- or worse in Team Ownership, Team Travel, Locker Room, Home Game Field, and Treatment of Families. That's not ideal.
Not to be too outdone, the Cardinals, who were also one of the worst teams in the year, ranked 31st. They had poor grades in the following:
- Treatment of Families: D+
- Locker Room: F-
- Training Room: D+
- Weight Room: D+
- Defensive Coordinator: C+
- Team Travel: C+
- Team Ownership: F
Perhaps unsurprisingly, given their rough history, the Cleveland Browns ranked 30th. They had just 5 grades above a C+. They also earned D+ or worse grades in Locker Room, Food/Dining Area, Treatment of Families, Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, and Team Travel.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did not grade well, either:
- Treatment of Families: D
- Home Game Field: F-
- Food/Dining Area: D+
- Locker Room: D-
- Training Room: C
- Training Staff: C+
- Special Teams Coordinator: C+
- Team Travel: F
- Team Ownership: D
The 29th-ranked team by the NFLPA survey was the Cincinnati Bengals. Treatment of Families, Home Game Field, Food/Dining Area, Nutritionist/Dietician, Team Travel, and Team Ownership were the problematic points.
Shockingly, the Kansas City Chiefs ranked 27th, with several surprisingly bad marks on their scorecard:
- Treatment of Families: C
- Food/Dining Area: C+
- Locker Room: F
- Training Room: C-
- Training Staff: C
- Position Coaches: C+
- Offensive Coordinator: C+
- Team Travel: D-
- Team Ownership: C+
Some of these teams have long held a positive reputation, but this will do them no favors.
