Predicting the Biggest NFL Free Agent Signings
The NFL free agent class doesn't have quite as much star power as in years past. There's no Sam Darnold or Milton Williams in this class. That said, there are some really good and impactful players available. Here's where they could end up signing.
Predicting the 2026 NFL free agent class
Daniel Jones: Colts
Daniel Jones turned his career around with the Indianapolis Colts. They know what he can do for them, and his Achilles injury won't scare them like other teams. It will dilute his market, but the Colts have been on this path since early in the regular season.
Trey Hendrickson: Patriots
The best edge rusher on the market, Trey Hendrickson, figures to command a hot market. He's not going to return to the Cincinnati Bengals. The New England Patriots could use someone to beef up a lackluster pass rush.
Jauan Jennings: 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are moving on from Brandon Aiyuk. The depth behind Jauan Jennings at wide receiver is impressively thin, so there's no way the 49ers let Jennings walk, even if it costs them a lot of money.
Alec Pierce: Colts
The Colts are going to want to keep Alec Pierce. Other NFL teams, a lot of them, will want to sign him. He could end up being the most sought-after free agent in the NFL this year, but the Colts will do what it takes to bring him back.
Devin Lloyd: Bengals
The Bengals have an awful defense, and adding a premier linebacker is one of the biggest ways to help that. Devin Lloyd is the best linebacker in the class, and Cincinnati's about to save money by letting Hendrickson walk.
Odafe Oweh: Chargers
The Chargers are set to lose both Odafe Oweh and Khalil Mack in free agency. A team cannot survive losing two good edge rushers, so they will bring Oweh back. He's younger than Mack and slightly better at this point.
Tyler Linderbaum: Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens already made a record-setting offer to Tyler Linderbaum. Clearly, they are willing to pay to keep him, so even if he tests the market and raises his price, the Ravens are willing and able to meet it.
Kenneth Walker: Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars could lose Travis Etienne to free agency, and who better to replace him than the Super Bowl MVP? They have a strong offensive coach who helped Etienne have a good year, so Walker would be a good fit.
Wan'Dale Robinson: Titans
Wan'Dale Robinson will have a very contested market with George Pickens (tagged), Alec Pierce (likely returning to Colts), and Jauan Jennings (likely returning to 49ers) not being available. The Titans have both money and a big need for talent on offense.
Jaelan Phillips: Commanders
The teams in need of an edge rusher that aren't getting Hendrickson or Oweh will turn to Jaelan Phillips. The Washington Commanders need help off the edge, and they have a defensive NFL head coach who'd probably love getting Phillips.
Deebo Samuel: Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs need better pass-catchers, and they need to be able to run the ball. Ironically, Deebo Samuel is a good pass-catcher who has shown a strong ability to run the ball out of the backfield. He'd help the Chiefs in multiple areas.
Tyreek Hill: 49ers
Tyreek Hill may be over the hill and injured, but he's still pretty good. He would thrive in the Kyle Shanahan offense. The 49ers, namely George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, would also really benefit from having a threat like Hill opposite them.
Rashid Shaheed: Seahawks
The Seahawks had the best special teams in the NFL after trading for Rashid Shaheed. Plenty of teams will want him for the same reason, but they're the defending NFL champions and have money to spend, so he's not leaving.
Bradley Chubb: Panthers
The Carolina Panthers need an edge rusher, but they can't afford the other ones on this list. Bradley Chubb went to college in North Carolina and played for Panthers DC Ejiro Evero for part of a season in Denver.
