Big Shot Games Review: Is It Legit for US Players?

Big Shot Games is a popular sweepstakes casino with a solid game selection, some competitive bonus offers and pretty decent US availability. But is it worth playing at when there are so many standout competitors around?

My Big Shot Games review is here to give you the lowdown on the brand’s reputation, games, bonuses, usability and more so you can make your own mind up about that. As far as sweeps sites go, this one’s average at best. Here’s what I found after playing here a while myself.

Bonuses - my Big Shot Games review’s findings

Big Shot Games’ homepage advertises a new customer bonus of 50,000 GC and 40 free SC. But it’s important to note that this is a strictly optional GC purchase bonus, and not your standard free to claim one.

As far as complimentary welcome packs go, I found you’ll get 10,000 GC and 2 SC for nothing when you first register. And that’s with no Big Shot Games promo code requirement, too - although you will need to be located in an eligible state, and carefully follow the bonus claims steps I outlined in my recent Big Shot Games bonus review to qualify.

From there, it’s on you whether or not you’d like to opt into the 50,000 GC and 40 free SC deal, which requires a first time GC purchase of $19.99 in your first few days of playing.

Both offers are relatively competitive and come with fair T&Cs - most notably the SC playthrough and redemption rules I mentioned above.

And later along the road, there are several other solid bonuses for existing customers to check out, too - including daily login rewards and a VIP program.

First up - is Big Shot Games legit?

Before I talk turkey, here’s a bit about the brand’s background. My Big Shot Games review found that the site, which operates as a virtual currency powered sweepstakes casino only and doesn’t offer any cash games, is owned and operated by the US based Big Shot Games Interactive LLC, and run out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Having said that, those of you who’d like to play here can only currently do so from selected states, as players from the following parts of the US are prohibited at the time of writing:

Elsewhere, I found that Big Shot Games’ social casino games, which can be played using either entertainment only Gold Coins (GC) or promotional Sweeps Coins (SC), both of which I’ll discuss more in a bit, are typically available to anyone aged 18+. That is, unless you live in a part of the US that sets a 19 or 21+ minimum sweepstakes gaming law locally. So, please double check before playing.

Security wise, the site is SSL encrypted, and uses geolocation tech to track where you’re playing from. However, two-factor authentication (2FA) isn’t currently available when creating an account.

The site shapes up alright on the responsible gambling front, mind - there are some easy to use self-exclusion and “Cool Off” tools available to players via the “Responsible Gaming” page.

Games up for grabs on the site - what you need to know

Other Big Shot Games reviews I’ve seen online have claimed that this site offers more than 1,000 different games. But during today’s review, I counted closer to 500 - which is a little below average for a sweepstakes casino.

Having said that, the software working behind the scenes here is genuinely pretty good - NetEnt’s iconic Starburst game was ranking as “This Week’s Top Pick” at the time of writing, while I spied a few familiar 3Oaks, Playson and Onlyplay games in the portfolio, too, as well as popular slots like Voltage Blitz Vortex and Go High Puppy Love.

The game genres covered aren’t quite as well diversified as what I’ve seen in my reviews of Sweeps Royal, Stake.us and other brands. But there’s still a decent enough mix to choose from, including:

Live Dealers Are Now Available at Big Shot Games

Until recently, Big Shot Games casino offered a majority of slot titles and table games in its gaming library. Now, powered by Evolution, a top-tier iGaming provider that specializes in live dealers, Big Shot Games launched its first selection of live dealer titles.

The names of these titles include EZ Baccarat, First Person Baccarat, Revolution Roulette, Dream Catcher. These are some of the most engaging and popular live dealers across the online casino space. Most offer real-life gameplay interactions, an immersive playing environment, and bonus rounds from the comfort of your devices. Some titles, such as First Person Baccarat, are RNG-based and do not feature live dealers

Interestingly, there are hopes of Big Shot Games adding more titles to their newly created live dealer section. The partnership between Big Shot Games and Evolution has already produced several high-quality games, with indications of more on the way.

Of course, if you’re thinking of playing here you’ll need to clue yourself up on the two tier virtual currency system the site uses first. Here’s how it works:

As I recently found during my Pulsz review, and when rating other popular sweepstakes casinos that are out there, all Big Shot Games’ games can be enjoyed on a no purchase necessary basis, thanks to the site’s free to claim GC and SC promotions. That said, strictly optional GC bundles can also be purchased at any time - some of which often include free SC bonuses (with SC themselves not outright purchasable).

With that in mind, let me turn your attention to the site’s latest bonus offers next…

VIP rewards and existing player promos

Big Shot Games’ VIP program looks confusing at first, but it’s pretty bread and butter in terms of how it works. Put simply, you can collect XP points as you play, typically by completing on site “Missions”, and then use said points to climb 12 levels, unlocking bonuses, GC bundle discounts, and more as you go.

The site’s 12 “Levels” are scattered across four “Tiers”, with bottom-tier “Crack Shot” players receiving fairly basic benefits from Levels 1-3, and top of the rung “Big Shot” players getting much more generous rewards in Levels 10-12.

Joining the program requires opting in. But if you don’t fancy it, don’t worry - because my Big Shot Games review found there are a few other bonuses available outside the program too. These include:

• Daily login bonuses - which are worth a fairly average 5,000 GC and 0.1 SC daily, and activated simply by signing in once every 24 hours.
• Social media promos - which vary from post to post; the most recent ones I saw on Instagram at the time of writing were offering 50% “Happy Hour” discounts on qualifying GC purchases.
• Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE) bonus - which currently offers a pretty fair 3 free SC when you mail a handwritten request to the brand’s MN address.

Site design - is Big Shot Games social casino easy to use?

My Big Shot Games review has no real complaints to report on the usability front. The site’s slots and other games are sensibly organized and easy enough to browse, its main menu gets the job done and the site itself has a pleasant lack of annoying popups or animations.

I liked the fact there’s an option to sign up via Google, and that the site’s “Sweeps Policy” and “Terms of Use” are easy to find in the footer of each web page. However, nothing much stands out about the gold, navy and black design and there aren’t really any nifty site features on offer here that you won’t find elsewhere - it’s a simple sweeps site that just works.

There’s no Big Shot Games iOS or Android app around just yet, either. But I didn’t run into any problems here at all when testing the site from my Google Pixel phone, or my two year old iPad Pro. Long story short, everything’s been properly optimized for mobile friendliness at the back end, meaning the site runs relatively smoothly on both Chrome and Safari, with no real lag or annoying compatibility quirks.

Purchasing GC and redeeming SC winnings - a few notes

Big Shot Games’ simple, standard design means it's easy to find the GC purchases page if ever you want to buy an optional GC bundle - it’s linked right there in the main menu.

The bundles offered at the time of writing started out from $9.99, which’ll get you 10,000 GC with a 10 free SC bonus. Whilst VISA, Mastercard and a few other credit/debit cards are supported on GC purchases here, as well as ACH bank transfer, but not Apple Pay or any e-wallets, unfortunately.

As for SC redemptions, my Big Shot Games review found you’ll need to complete the site’s KYC checks by uploading some ID and proof of address before these’ll be available to you. It’s also a requirement to play through your SC winnings at least 1x, and to collect at least 100 played-through SC before you’ll be eligible to request a redemption, too - with the average SC redemption handled in anywhere from 24 hours to three business days here.

My Big Shot Games review’s take on the site’s customer support

Much as I found in my recent Pulsz Bingo review, customer support options are pretty varied at Big Shot Games - and fairly dependable, too.

There’s a decent FAQs page available that covers things like how to register, how GC and SC work, and how long you can expect to wait for SC redemptions. While there’s a separate “Contact Us” page where you can reach out to staff directly, too.

Of the options available, I found that:

• Live chat - is staffed 24/7; it starts out as a bot, but quickly connects you with a human after a short back and forth.
• Email support - is also 24/7, but not quite as fast acting; I got replies within about 2-3 hours when I tested it.
• Online contact forms - make for a dependable alternative to email, but don’t have any option for adding attachments to support your query, unfortunately.

My Big Shot Games review conclusion - an a-okay place to play

Big Shot Games has everything you’d expect of an up and coming sweepstakes casino - from a decently diverse game selection and some competitive bonuses, to reliable customer support and even a fairly comprehensive loyalty program.

Having said that, the site’s game portfolio ain’t exactly the largest on the US market right now, and it’s a shame that payment options are limited to credit/debit cards and ACH bank transfer on GC purchases. While the fact there’s no iOS or Android app available yet is a shame, too.
