Pickem Social Review: How Does Pick'em Casino Work?

Pick’em social is a dual feature site that offers sweepstakes casino gaming and social over/under picks on a range of sports.

I’ve downloaded the app, and have worked hard to create a Pick’em social review below.

I am concentrating on the sweepstakes casino part of the site, but I will also go over the features of the social sportsbook too. This includes analyzing the games library, looking at what sports it supports, and seeing if there are any Gold Coin (GC) or Sweeps Coin (SC) promotions. I’ll also delve into the legitimacy of the site.

Is Pick’em social casino legit?

To start this Pick’em social review I wanted to see if the site is even legit or not. It IS, and I was pleased to see the different regulatory compliance features and security it offered.

It’s only available in selected states

Pick’em Social is legit, and it complies with US sweepstakes regulations. You can only ever play games here with the virtual currencies, it doesn’t allow real money gameplay, and you can’t make USD deposits either. Currently, the site is only available to customers in the US who are over 18, and do not live in - Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, or Washington.

The site has standard security features

I wanted to make sure I would be safe playing here, so I looked for the security features and found the site and apps use SSL encryption for data transferals. There’s also a geoblocking feature to make sure only legit customers are accessing the site. You have to go through several verification steps too, such as email/SMS verification, and then completing a full KYC check if you want to try and make SC cash prize redemptions.

You have the option to purchase GC packages

Gold Coin packages purchases are available here, but no purchase is necessary to play the games or make social over/under picks. The GC packages look OK value, but there’s nothing outstanding outside of the initial GC first purchase bonus. I tested the purchasing system and was able to use Visa, MasterCard, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or Online Banking.

You’ll have the option to redeem your Sweeps Coins for cash prizes too, but to do so, you need at least 100 SC, and there’s a 1x playthrough requirement on your bonus SC. I was only able to request redemptions via Online Banking.

Support options are limited

I had to contact support a few times when creating this Pick’em social review, and I didn’t see anything like a live chat. Instead, there only seems to be a help center or email support which is something they need to improve. The help center is detailed, but if you want direct human support, you’ll have to wait for an email response, which from my experience, can take between 3-4 hours.

What entertainment did I find at Pick’em sweepstakes casino?

Similar to my Bankrolla review, I not only browsed the game library here, but spent time testing them, and looking at the social sportsbook section of Pick’em.

It has a solid collection of casino-style games

For the sweepstakes casino, Pick’em works with a relatively small range of software developers including ICONIC21, BGaming, Mancala, NetGaming, PopiPlay, Betsoft, and Dragon Gaming. These are developers I’ve heard of before, but compared to some other sites, they only have a limited selection of producers which can affect the overall variety.

I was able to play a range of different genres too, such as:

  • Slots
  • Hold and Win slots
  • Live dealer games
  • Live game shows
  • Arcade games
  • Pick’em Originals

Slots make up most of the game library and you’ll have plenty of entertainment if you enjoy trying out different mechanics and bonus rounds. The live dealer section is decent too - you’ve got blackjack, roulette, baccarat, plus a small collection of live game shows. There is a Pick’em Originals section, which is a collection of arcade games such as HiLo, but there are some key titles missing like Mines and Limbo.

There’s also a social sportsbook section

There isn’t a social sportsbook in the traditional sense and you can’t place social picks on different sporting events. Instead, Pick’em has a social over/under pick system where you make between 2-6 over/under picks on players from different sports, on a variety of stats.

For instance, you might be able to make a social over/under pick for an NBA game based on the number of points or assists a player will make. You then have the chance of getting a prize multiplier based on how many correct social picks you make. There’s a solid selection of sports including the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB, MLS, European Soccer, Tennis, Golf, MMA, and Boxing, plus a few esports.

Did I get any promotions at Pick’em social casino?

Similar to my Lucky Bits Vegas review, I reviewed the virtual currency setup Pick’em has, and the promotions it offers for both new and existing customers. I’ve compiled a more detailed Pick’em Social promo code review that you could also look at.

There’s a 50,000 GC and 1 SC welcome bonus

The first thing I did at Pick’em was create a new account, complete my profile, and then do the full KYC ID check. From what I could see, after doing this, you’ll get a welcome bonus of 50,000 Gold Coins (GC) and 1 Sweeps Coin (SC). This is OK, but it’s not the best signup bonus you’ll find. I consider the minimum social casino welcome bonus to be 7,500 GC and 2 SC, but many sites are giving 100,000 GC+ now, so Pick’em could definitely increase this bonus a little.

I saw other promos like a login bonus and mail-in bonus

The welcome bonus is just one feature though, and the site has a range of other promotions such as a daily login bonus where you can get up to 20,000 GC and 0.50 SC, a 3 SC mail-in bonus, and a decent VIP program. The VIP program also looks to be linked to the special Career Mode feature they have which is a sports game mode that you can do for fun.

Using Pick’em social casino

For this Pick’em social review, I also looked at the usability, which is something I did for my Sweep Jungle review too. The usability is FINE, but I’m not a huge fan of the style and theme of the social casino website.

  • The website style looks OK: I can see the style they have gone for with the website design, but I personally don’t think it works - that’s just my taste though. I don’t really like the gradient effect on the background, and some of the thumbnails look a little pixelated. Still, the usability is spot on, and I guess this is what matters the most. There’s a simple navigation menu, and then along the top underneath the header images, you have links for the different game categories. I was easily able to find what I wanted to play, and I didn’t see any technical problems either.
  • There’s mobile apps for Android and iOS: I was surprised to see a downloadable mobile app for both Android and iOS devices, and this is for both the sweepstakes casino and social pick’em feature. I checked out the Android version for my Samsung Galaxy and it works fine. You’ve got the same style as the desktop site, so I wasn’t a massive fan of that, but overall, I think it gives a solid mobile gaming experience, and it is better than most mobile-browser versions that other sweepstakes casinos will provide instead of an app.

Final thoughts - Pick’em offers a decent enough social casino experience

That’s my Pick’em social review finished, but would I recommend it? I think the sweepstakes casino part of the site is decent, but it has room for growth too. You will certainly get decent entertainment by signing up, but at the same time, until it adds some more games and promos, there are also better options available too that are slightly more well-rounded.

I do like the concept of the social over/under pick’em part of the site too, and if they broaden the range of sports and over/under markets, then it could easily become a top contender. Either way, if you want to try it out for yourself, you can click the links or banners we’ve got on this page and get signed up today.
