PrizePicks’ unique game modes offer a nice twist on the classic DFS experience. There’s an impressive line-up of featured sports to make your selections from, too, ranging from the NFL to Korean baseball.
There’s good news for players situated in states with tricky gaming rules, too, as PrizePicks is available in 45+ locations throughout the USA. However, some people might be disappointed to learn that this is an app-only platform.
Pros:
- Awesome line-up of sports: PrizePicks contests are available on a wide range of sports – from NFL and MLB to soccer, tennis, esports, cricket, and even Korean baseball.
- Unique game modes: PrizePicks isn’t limited to just one standard DFS game mode; there are multiple ways to play, giving you plenty of options, whatever your preferences.
- Coverage in 45+ states: Some PrizePicks games and services are available in over 45 US states, so it boasts some of the best coverage of any DFS app I’ve tested.
- Regular promotions: From a $5 for $50 welcome bonus to regular “Taco Tuesday” deals, PrizePicks keeps its members handsomely rewarded.
Cons:
- App-only gameplay: PrizePicks is only available to play via a mobile app for iOS and Android devices. If you’d prefer to play on your PC, this could pose a problem.
Legal status and licensing
The legal framework of DFS betting sites is something I covered in my recent Betr review, and the same applies in the case of PrizePicks.
However, where these two apps differ is in the jaw-dropping coverage that PrizePicks boasts. The app is available in 45 US states, with 90% of territories accepting its usage. That represents some of the best coverage of any DFS app I’ve tested.
Of course, that doesn’t tell the full story. You see, since PrizePicks offers a mix of both “real money” and “free to play” games, you’ll need to check your eligibility to play different games.

Safety and security at PrizePicks
PrizePicks covers all bases to keep its members safe. There’s watertight SSL encryption, two-factor authentication, and a great use of native security features within the app. You’ll need to pass KYC verification checks too, which is no bad thing, while there are also some decent responsible gameplay features for players to use.
Design and user interface
Right off the bat, I need to tell you that PrizePicks is an app-only DFS platform. That shouldn’t be a problem for 99% of readers.

What can I tell you about the PrizePicks app? First of all, it’s great. I love its modern vibe and low-key grey, white, and purple color palette, which seems to pop in all the right places, making navigation and usability a breeze.
Performance-wise, it delivers a smooth, speedy experience, something that many players picked up on in their app store ratings. I like how it utilizes my device’s features, too; I’ve set up Face ID and push notifications to augment my experience.

Getting started at PrizePicks couldn’t be simpler. I managed to download the app, register for an account, and start making selections within a few minutes. Here’s how it’s done:

For me, finding DFS apps with a sign-up bonus is an absolute prerequisite. So, how does PrizePicks fare on the promotions side of things? And what kind of perks and rewards can you expect here?

The PrizePicks flagship welcome bonus is a classic “bet and get” deal, wherein you can bag $50 in free play credit when you stake $5 on qualifying Lineups contests. I was happy to find that the $50 bonus arrived in my virtual bankroll instantly after my qualifying stake settled, ready to use on a contest of my choosing.
It’s worth noting, though, that you can’t immediately withdraw the $50 bonus; it’s rewarded as bonus credit with a playthrough requirement attached. You’ll also have a limited time to use the bonus before it expires, so keep an eye on the date. Note, too, that you’ll need to add a minimum of $10 to your PrizePicks account.
Taco Tuesday
Yep, you read right. PrizePicks offers up an ode to the classic “Taco Tuesday” promo, with a selection of discounted picks available – you guessed it – every Tuesday.
Every Tuesday, PrizePicks discounts a range of projections, giving you scope to pick up nice returns. For instance, you might be able to bag a 15% projection discount on Le Bron’s next points projection, with more space to cash in as a result.
You can keep up to date with the latest Taco Tuesday discounted projections via the PrizePicks “promotions” page. Alternatively, follow the brand on its socials for week-by-week promos every Tuesday.
Friend referrals
Friend referrals were a big feature in my recent Boom Fantasy review, and they’re a priority promo at PrizePicks, too. Simply pick up your unique referral code via the app’s “Promos” page, share it with a friend, and you could get a fixed “Bonus Balance” amount when they sign up and make their first deposit.
The amount of “Bonus Balance” you receive when using the PrizePicks referral program will vary depending on the size of your friend’s initial deposit. There’ll be some playthrough requirements to meet before you can withdraw any bonus funds, and you should also watch out for the bonus expiry date, too.
VIP rewards
One of the only downsides of PrizePicks’ promotion line-up is the complete lack of a VIP rewards system, which, I have to admit, did come as something of a surprise.
That said, all hope is not lost. It's pretty common for DFS platforms to launch a VIP program months or even years after their initial release. A PrizePicks VIP program may yet become a reality in the future. Until then, players have to settle for the promotions available right now.

When testing the app in preparation for my PrizePicks review, I was able to make live picks on NFL, college football, NBA, WNBA, MLB, college basketball, and NHL fixtures. Do note that opportunities to place live picks on college league stats may be limited in some jurisdictions.

Good news: PrizePicks probably has the biggest assortment of customer support channels that I’ve encountered on any new DFS apps in the USA, so if you get stuck, there are plenty of ways to get help.
My pick of the brand’s best service channels is the in-app live chat facility, which you can access by tapping the “Help Center” button. There’s phone support too on 770-545-6450 – a first for the DFS apps I’ve reviewed recently – as well as a dedicated email channel [email protected], which does offer comprehensive support and speedy response times.
Responsible gaming
Of all the DFS apps I’ve tested in recent weeks, PrizePicks seems to be the most active about promoting responsible gaming. First of all, I do like that PrizePicks limits the possible deposits for all new members. Sure, some high-stakes players might see that as prohibitive, but I think it’s a sensible step.
